Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise and automatic emergency braking look through a camera mounted to your windshield. After glass work it has to be recalibrated. We do static and dynamic calibration at your home or office, or in our Miramar shop, in the same visit.

What actually moves when the glass changes.
The forward camera sits in a bracket bonded to the windshield. New glass means a new bracket position, even by a fraction of a degree. At the glass that is nothing. Projected 200 feet down the road it is the width of a lane, and the dashboard still shows every system as active.
Static, dynamic, or both.
Static calibration uses printed targets at measured distances on level ground. Dynamic calibration uses a scan tool while the car is driven on a structured route so the camera relearns from real lane lines. The manufacturer decides which your car needs. We do both, mobile or in our Miramar shop, per the published procedure for your vehicle.

Calibration is the last step of a windshield replacement, and it rides on the same comprehensive claim. Dynamic calibration can happen on the road after a mobile install; static targets need the level floor of the Miramar shop. A chip repair never moves the camera, so it needs no calibration at all.
