Tint from a glass shop.

We handle glass all day, so film goes on straight, bubble-free, and cut to the edge of the pane. Rear doors, quarter glass, back glass and the legal band across the top of the windshield. Customers mention our tint work in their Google reviews, which is how a lot of people find out we do it.

California legal, explained plainly.

California requires at least 70 percent light through the front side windows and allows any shade behind the driver. Bring your ideas, we will show you the options on real glass in the shop and tell you what passes.

Related services

Tinting pairs well with glass work: if a door window is being replaced anyway, we tint the new pane in the same visit (see door glass replacement). Tint is an in-shop job at Miramar, unlike mobile windshield service, which comes to you. Film is a cash service; it is not part of an insurance claim.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about window tinting.

What tint is legal in California?
Front side windows must let at least 70 percent of light through. Rear side windows and the back glass can be any shade. The windshield allows a strip across the top.
Will tint bubble or turn purple?
Cheap dyed film can. Carbon and ceramic films are color-stable, and the install is what decides bubbles: a clean shop, the right slip solution and a proper squeegee. Our tint carries the same lifetime workmanship warranty as our glass.
Can you remove old tint first?
Yes. Old, purple or bubbled film comes off with steam and a scraper before the new film goes on.
Is tint covered by insurance?
No. Film is a cash service and is not part of an insurance claim.
